CRYING AT THE LIPSTICK BAR by LANI MITCHELL

21.11 - 30.11.25

6 WORKS AS LOVE LETTERS, PAINTING TO REMEMBER AND GRIEF, LIVING WITH GLAMOUR AND ABANDON KNOWING IT WILL ALL END, AND STILL CHOOSING TO REVEL IN IT.

This imagined directive becomes the exhibition’s refrain: a call to mourn and to live, to weep and to dance, to hold close the extraordinary flickers of beauty that persist even in loss.

Crying at the Lipstick Bar is a meditation on absence, beauty and the persistence of feeling. It is both farewell and celebration; grief rendered in glamour, loss made luminous.

Lani Mitchell is an Australian Visual Artist, based between Los Angeles and Melbourne. Through bold gestural strokes and muted colour fields, Mitchell creates a visual landscape that is both intimate and expansive, where narrative is implied not told. The works are spaces of reflection, where the viewer is invited to engage with the transient, the fragility of life but also one’s profound possibility for transformation, for hope, for more life, for more beauty, for more romance.

We will host private viewing on Friday the 21st during the day, please get in touch to secure a time.
