A is for Ant is a playful and surreal take on the classic children’s alphabet book by photographer and filmmaker Jack Davison, with costumes by set designer Shona Heath. This multi-faceted project unfolds across a short film, two books, and The Ant Bus—a touring live performance where each letter comes to life as an animal. Designed in collaboration with Matt Willey, Book 1 offers a striking photographic monograph, while Book 2 is an interactive newsprint edition, inviting children to collage and create their own alphabet. A bold and imaginative exploration of language, image, and form.
